Vienne, which was both an important Roman town and the one-time capital of Burgundy, sits majestically on the left bank of the Rhône River about 30 miles south of Lyon. This is the best view of Vienne and the Rhône River, shot from atop Le Mont Pipet just above the Roman theater.
