French Pottery
Roussillon, France

Pottery can be traced back over 8000 years in Provence. Since pre-Roman times, potters and artisans have favored the clay of Provence and the Cote d’Azur. It is, however, our current fascination with the interaction of tradition and modern taste that defines Provencal Pottery. Although porcelain and stoneware versions are made, the low-firing temperature process of earthenware defines Provencal Pottery.
